This melbourne band has come a long way from their 2006 debut, Animal Bells. Maybe it's all due to Crayon's frontman/guitarist, Geoff O' Connor's vision to excercise nostalgia of "Parlor-Rock" into their latest effort(I think John Hughes would've found em RAD). All the Pleasure of the World can easily become a indie classic of 2009 with dance-friendly songs such as Disappear where the feeling is that of Buddy Holly meets Bell & Sebastian. But don't let those hipster fav's deter you. These guys have raised the bar for other Austrailian groups that have been riding the coat-tails of Avalanche or Cut Copy! ATPOTW is def' worth purchase- Look Out Atlas Sound!!!
