iTunes Review

On his third album, the consummate balladeer adds a whole mess of pop spice to his recipe for love. The result is a diverse set that reaches far beyond Legend’s trademark brand of elegant soul. “Green Light” is a duet with André 3000 featuring glimmering synths and crisp club beats, while “No Other Love” finds his smooth voice swaying to a reggae gait that’s as warm and intoxicating as a Caribbean lagoon. Legend turns political on “If You’re Out There,” a rousing call for love, peace, and unity replete with backing choir and searing fretwork.

Impressive Album

Honestly, I am quite surprised that there are no other reviews of this album as it is quite good. I was a little skeptical at first as it's a bit of a departure from Legend's previous work, but it proves to have be the most complete album he has put out today. Yes, "Get Lifted" is a raw an emotional work that showcases who he is on a personal level, but on "Evolver", he sounds better than he has before and also expands his musical horizons. If you want to listen straight through an album and not have to skip through, "Evolver" would be a great purchase.

Why is It's Over Album Only?

Dumb. really dumb. It's an amazing song, but what reason is there to make it album-only??

john legend not so bad

I usually don't write reviews on music, but I like John Legend a little, and poor guy couldn't even get more than one review on here. I think his singing talents on this or any other album compare to Usher, or any other top R&B singer. His style is a little more melow, a little more grown up for most peoples taste, however. I can understand how young people would avoid this kind of music. BUT THAT'S OK I STILL LIKE YOU JOHN LEGEND>>>KEEP INSPIRING HEARTS ACROSS THE WORLD>>>

Not yet out of his teens, Stephens was tapped to play piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything," a Top 40 hit for the Fugees member's 1998 album The Miseducation...
