Album Review

A fine follow-up to Greg Kihn as Kihn continues to grow as an artist and songwriter. His version of "For You" received some favorable comments from Springsteen as well as first dibs on an original Springsteen tune for a later album.

Three Great Albums this is one of them

The first album that turned me on to Greg Kihn. A singer song writer classic. He also does 2 great covers, Buddy Holly's Love's Made A Fool of You and Bruce's For You, both are incredible versions. Greg's best song Madison Avenue is a classic and the rest of the album is fun and rocks out. This is a great buy. The other 2 classics are With The Naked Eye and Rock Kihn Roll. And coming in at a close 2nd is Next of Kihn - which rocks a lot harder than this album. Get these 4 albums and you will find out what is so awesome about Greg Kihn!

Why I bought it back then (and now again)

The first time I heard The GREG KIHN BAND was at a concert in my hometown of Lodi (cue for all the "stuck in Lodi" jokes). The first song they did was "Love's Made A Fool Of You", and even thought I was paying that morning for celebrating the coming concert the night before, it was great. Being a big Buddy Holly fan I knew I had to get this version. Their entire set was great, especially "Roadrunner", and the next day I went to Berkely to get the album at Rather Ripped Records (not realizing at the time that Greg had once worked there). Upon playing the album I liked it all, especially "For You"(The Boss liked Greg's version too), "Madison Avenue" and "Island". If you enjoy mid-sixties influenced rock you'll like this.

Greg Kihn Again

This lp a rebellion of self, & rock and roll society. "Hurt so bad" coming out of a dark tunnel and shouting about it. "If you be my love" a wonderful melody about where to begin a romance. "Untie my hands" shows off the remarkable Dave Carpendar similar to Carlos Santana.
