Album Review

Why CMG can't just come clean and tell the consumer that this is a live record is beyond reason. Anybody who is seeking to purchase a Greg Kihn record doesn't care what it is anyway: If he's on it, they'll purchase it. This kind of deception is common, but in this case it's utterly unnecessary. This set is a latter-day recorded gig (though it doesn't say when) and features the Kihn band ripping through his near-hits, his misses, and a slew of great covers. The performance is inspired, it's tight, and it rocks. The cover of the Only Ones' "Another Girl, Another Planet," that opens the set is especially great, as is the reading of Love's "Little Red Book."

Where Is The Good Kihn?

Where is RockKihnRoll? Kihntinued? etc. Having been a Kihn fan for over thirty years, I feel sorry for your listeners who do not have the opportunity (via I-Tunes) to sample the "Good Kihn". I would rank RockKihnRoll in my all time Top Ten.

Break up the break up

The Breakup Song is 2nd rate. Not the original that I loved.

The following year, he became one of the first artists signed to Matthew Kaufman's now-legendary Beserkley Records. Along with Jonathan Richman, Earthquake, and the Rubinoos, Kihn helped to carve the label's sound -- melodic pop with a strong '60s pop sensibility -- a refreshing alternative to the bloated prog rock...
