Not worth the $$$

Typical run-of-the-mill anti-American artsy-fartsy crap. This album is sterotypical of the "new album" you dread hearing when shell out $$$ to see a live show. I agree, it's NOT the Cutting Crew. It's Nick Van Eede singing solo. When you start a concert by thanking Americans for voting for Obama, you're asking for trouble, Nick...

'bout this alblum

Its pritty good. But I hate when there's alblums that have songs with lots of popularity, and songs with no poupularity at all. Its just damn crazy!

Honorable Mention

This is not the Cutting Crew. Nic does a great job putting together some nice material but it definitely falls "way" short of what was accomplished by Nic and Kevin. With Kevin gone, I believe that Nic had no choice but to keep plugging and make an attempt (of sorts) to bring back the CC magic. Personnaly I believe that Nic should have pondered a "solo" career in writing or something more geared toward his personal agenda. I admire CC for the attempt to morph into the 21st century, and there is good material here, but it lacks so much of what made CC unique. I feel perhaps that Kevin was alot more of the CC music than most suspected or dared to believe. Kevin was a "world class" guitarists which is obvious from the first album to the end. His melodic approach to songs anchored in Syn layers was amazing !!! Perfect! This CC will never be the old CC no matter how you package it. It should be something else.

The pop/rock group Cutting Crew formed in England in 1985, just one year before "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" made them stars at home and across the Atlantic. Founding members Kevin Scott MacMichael (guitar) and Nick Van Eede (vocals) met in Halifax, Nova Scotia, while both musicians were on tour with their respective bands. A musical connection was made, and MacMichael soon relocated to England, where he and Van Eede immediately began to collaborate. After signing with Siren Records on the strength...
