Altered state

This album puts me into an altered state of mind, which is the most euphoric state. The creativity and fluid of this album is incredible.

Absolutely brilliant.

Smooth, glitchy electronica. Incredible composition and sound design. Definitely one of the best examples of the genre.

Berlins Hide Out

This guy rocks. Stewart fled the states in search of some inspiration in a land where they love their techno. He went to the birthplace of techno the TRESOR. Well the dude found something for sure. I was there last week and it puts any club around here in NYC to shame. Buy up what this dude is putting out. This is the future of music. Then lets get him back to the motherland so he can play in NYC.

Sound sculpture is an overused analogy in music circles, especially techno, but it becomes a fitting term to use for the productions of Stewart Walker. Influenced by the work of Alexander Calder, a sculptor of large outdoor pieces called "stabile" (abstract mobile-like pieces made of sheet metal), Walker composed a set of stark, hypnotic tracks of minimalist techno for his first full-length, released on Mille Plateaux in 1999.
