A Classic Underrated Gem

The first time I caught these guys, was on MTV's 120 Minutes. Of course that was back when MTV actually played music and had videos. Anyways, I was blown away by the alt/punk rockabilly band The Screaming Blue Messiahs. I took a gamble and bought their album "Gun Shy", not expecting much. Boy, was I surprised! Much better than I ever expected. A much under appreciated band who have a fierceness and attitude that they bring with every song. Some great tunes on here. A killer cover of Hank Williams' "You're Gonna Change". Some personal favorites: Clear View, Holiday Head, Twin Cadillac Valentine, just to name a few. Every song is great, from start to finish. Most folks have probably never even heard of these guys. Definitely worth a listen. Thank you ITunes for putting this on your store. A great addition to anyone's music library!


I've been hunting and waiting for these albums to be rereleased. I loved them when they came out about 30 years ago. Bill Carter created a guitar sound that in my opinion hasn't been reproduced. Blues and distortion...combined with that incredible rhythm, I screams to be played loud.
