So good!

Lia's got the best voice arrrounndd towwnn!

There are many reasons to listen to Lia...

Lia Ices has produced quite an impressive debut with her release of Necima: an album worth listening to from start to finish, and a notable contribution to today’s Piano-based, Alternative, Singer/Songwriter genre. Her band is solid and skillful, with a sound ability to underscore Lia’s “Fiona Apple-esque” vocals and piano chops. The production quality is clean, simple, yet elegant, never overshadowing the heart and soul of each tune on the album. However, the songwriting and the execution of each piece are the most striking qualities on the album. The songs are unmistakably authentic, each one an aching story; and without being over sentimental, her interpretations are nothing sort of dramatic, gritty, and moving. Lia has raw natural talent, and classical training to thank for her facility to “walk the line” between: connecting to the listener, while simultaneously living inside the song so completely. Look out folks: Lia Ices is finally on the scene. I say, it's been worth the wait.

Sounding a bit like Tori Amos in a Cat Power world, Ices quickly captured attention in the area, eventually releasing the eight-song album Necima in 2008 with Nicolas Vernhes' Rare Book Room...
