fantastic sophomore showing...

Tyler Read's second offering, Hallelujiaville, displays everything their fans - indeed everything fans of true rock 'n' roll - could have hoped. The album's overall tone and feel is a bit more grown up and reflective than Only Rock N Roll. However, the whimsicality and playfulness of the lyrics keep the album from taking itself too seriously. Tyler Read shows their chops musically throughout the album. For the rockers among you, avalanche will certainly sate your thirst. And for those looking for a little bit of blues and southern comfort in their rock n roll, Cadillac and White Light push the musical envelope farther than most bands dare, and their fans come out the winners.

Recently, I have truly seen what I believe is turning into a musical re-awakening across the board. From Jack White's musical offerings in the White Stripes, the Dead Weather, the Raconteurs to bands like Them Crooked Vultures, rock n roll is experiencing a reawakening from the boring, thoughtless music that filled our radios in the early part of this decade. Tyler Read's Hellelujiaville contributes to this growth and reawakening of musical thought. I look forward to see what this band has in store in the future.

They've done it again! Only Rock and Roll Can Save Us Now was awesome, but Hallelujiaville one has a more bluesy feel to it. The best thing in my opinion is that it isn't mainstream like most alternative bands these days, which makes both Hallelujiaville and Tyler Read themselves incredibly unique.

Another great album!

Tyler Read comes back with a vengeance. Hallelujiaville is an album with heartfelt songs and rocking riffs! This has a very bluesy feel, and Avalance and White Light, Black Gospel will get stuck in your head for weeks!

Singer Josh Johnson and his brother, drummer Jordan Johnson, formed the band along with lead guitarist Chris McPeters, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Brent Skinner, and bassist Chris Rimmer, taking cues not only from their alt-rock contemporaries but also from vintage classic rock acts like Queen and the Rolling Stones. Heavy regional touring led to major-label interest by...
