Another Hit from Te Vaka!

Possibly my favorite Te Vaka album since Nukukehe. My favorite songs are the title track Haoloto, Katakata mai, Mana Malohi, Mau Piailug, Na Ko Koe. OK, really, all of them are great! This was my Christmas present to myself :)

This album is a great one, continuing the Te Vaka tradition of solid rhythms, melodies, and mixing the upbeat with the mystical. I stumbled across them randomly on a Putumayo Presents album a few years ago, and have been hooked ever since. Though they're in a class all their own, if you're at all a fan of island rhythms (Caribbean or otherwise), or like groups such as Deep Forest, you'll love this album. On one hand, I wish they were more popular here in the U.S., but on the other hand, I feel like not being so keeps their music a little more pure.

toe fetaui is my favorite! it is such a pretty song!!!
