About Latvian Radio Choir
Founded in 1940, the Latvian Radio Choir consists of 24 singers, led by music director Sigvards Klava and Kaspars Putnins. The Latvian Radio Choir was formed by choral conductor Teodors Kalnins, who led the choir until his death in 1962. Edgars Racevskis was music director from 1963 to 1986, and from 1987 to 1992, Juris Klavins served as music director. The ensemble has recorded for Hyperion, BIS, GB Records, Ondine, Naïve, and ECM New Series.
