Get "Tough", Then Go Live

Dear MCA, I have discovered a get-rich-quick-scheme on i-tunes: release a Gary Allan (and band) album of their best tour performances, salt it with some non-studio album tracks such as "Chain" that are, as Mr. Allan says, "keepers", and release on i-tunes ASAP. "Rough All Over" should be the title - GA live performances are raw and rockin'. Gary Allan is a musical legend in our midst because he is so damn everyman. See Gary Live

I was not a huge Gary Allan fan until I saw him live for the first time in 2005. I knew his radio friendly hits like Nothing On But The Radio and Tough Little Boys so, my husband and I decided to catch his show when he came to town. Let me tell ya, Gary rocks! He is a consumate showman and his band is first rate. I live in Vegas and see a lot of concerts and Gary is the one I would recomend to anyone, not just country fans. See him if you get the chance.

live is always better

When Allan returned to those same honky tonks with his own combo, the sound was true Bakersfield country: Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and the rest. Allan spent most of his twenties honing his skills as a new traditionalist country singer; finally, in 1996, he was picked...
