A Lost Angel Who’s Not Ready To Go Home
Avril Lavigne tells her brave story in “Head Above Water” as she beautifully sings about her fight with lyme disease. Her raw and haunting vocals echo her desperation, angst, hopelessness, and shelters an emotional plea to survive. Her condition was so bad, that she sings about giving up and succumbing on the threshold of the grace of god. But there was still a lot of fight in her and decided she was not ready to fall asleep. “Head Above Water” is an emotional power ballad that houses Avril’s most powerful and captivating vocals. She was crushed, left bedridden & weakened, lost herself, but her amazing voice grew stronger and powerful. This is easily her best song. This is as vulnerable as she’s ever been. This is her triumphant return to music.
I have been an Avril fan since high school and this song doesn’t disappoint. Powerful lyrics and vocals about what she’s gone through with her battle of lymes disease. You go Avril ❤️❤️❤️
