Fresh & Tasty

As an oldster, I am reminded of the first time Laura Nyro or Brian Wilson went deep. This is really enjoyable music to listen to. If you like the above artists, I think you'll find this a blast of relief from the jammed up valves of the top 40. A rare & total surprise

Brooke is one of the most talented singer-songwriters I've ever heard. This album is different than her EP, but just as lovely. Her songwriting is complex and enchanting; you can catch something new at every listen. Her orchestration is unparalleled. She has truly created a soundscape completely unique to her. Although I can understand the comparisons to Regina Spektor, Tori Amos, Feist, et al, Brooke is really her own artist. Every track is fantastic, but highlights are "Lungs Speed, Lungs Sped," "Beaut," "Young Friend," "Tender Mending," and "Live for the Sounds," but the whole album -- especially for $7.99 -- is worth the purchase.

With all the commecialized crap that's being produced in the music world, it's nice to find an artist that makes refreshing, fun, and beautifully orchestrated songs. I highly recommend this album to anyone who appreciates beautiful music! I hope she makes it big with the likes of Feist, Ingrid Michaelson, and Regina Spektor.
