While My Review Gently Weeps

I am typing this review more as a warning than an actual critique since I only bought one song, but I'm giving a five because I would like to see Jake get more publicity: I'm guessing many people who search for Shimabukuro on iTunes do so because they've seen his unbelievable version of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' on the internet. I love listening to that version and watching him perform it, so I decided to pay 99 cents so I could listen to it wherever I go. But the album version is different from the one on the internet; It starts the same, but the ending is overproduced from the awesome simplicity of the video version. Unfortunately the iTunes preview is deceptive this way. I'm a little disappointed at the creative decision for the way this version was produced, as I think the online version not only showcases Jake's skills better but sounds better too. So in summary: Not the same version, but Jake is nonetheless an unbelievably gifted artist.

This guy is awesome

This guy plays the ukulele better than any other person I have ever heard. His rhythms are crazy, yet elegant. He has a nice style, and I am sure it is envied by many. This is a MUST HAVE for people who truly understand the beauty of music. I found him by simply searching around, because my music is on iTunes as well. So, take my advice and check this out.

hendrix on the uke, with a little bit of eddie v

jake's amazing...i just heard about him, bought his cd, and i have to say he's one of the greatest artists i've heard in a long time...you have to be into the instrumental thing to truly appreciate this disc, there are no vocals at all...his cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is something you'll continually be pressing REPEAT on with your cd player or iPod
