iTunes Review

When Ozzy Osbourne left Black Sabbath in 1979, a significant slice of their audience figured the end had come. So the sheer physical force of their first album fronted by Elf and Rainbow alumnus Ronnie James Dio caught everyone by surprise. The otherworldly ominousness of “Die Young” and “Children of the Sea,” the ruthless forward charge of “Neon Knights,” and the frighteningly massive riffs of “Heaven and Hell” lodge themselves immediately into your brain—where they’re destined to remain right up until doomsday.

Dio rules

Great album - great memories - my first concert.
Ronnie will be missed - one of the best voices in heavy metal sadly silenced forever.......

A true Master Piece of Metal

RIP Ronnie, \,,/,

Probably my favorite all time Ronnie James Dio album. This Ranks quite high as Sabbath album as well.
Here Sabbath re-invents its self rising from fading ambers to be a white hot and relevant force in the new Metal scene of the day.
Still very relevant today and no signs of sounding dated. Definitely worth the purchase! \,,/,

Honestly, the BEST Sabbath Album.

The early/Ozzy Sabbath albums are classic blueprints, but they never finish the job. In the early 80s a musical miracle occurred. Both Ozzy and Sabbath peaked individually without each other. Ozzy's masterpieces with RR are immortal, and Sabbath with Dio, "Heaven and Hell" to be precise. The Mob Rules is great too, but this IS the one. The divided outcome (Sabbath/Ozzy) was much greater than the product of the previous whole. Worth every penny!

The band distilled the smoke and strife of its industrial hometown into a punitive blast of doom-laden heavy blues-rock via bass player Geezer Butler's dystopian lyrics, which leaned heavily on the occult, and guitarist Tony Iommi's seismic riffing. When paired with...
