iTunes Editors’ Notes

After nearly two decades of recording, Point of Grace continues to testify to its collective faith with honeyed harmonies rooted in Southern musical traditions. Under the production guidance of modern popster Ian Eskelin, the trio gains a fresh sonic updating on A Thousand Little Things. PoG’s natural affinity for country sounds is highlighted with liberal use of acoustic guitars and mandolins on tracks like “Wash Me Away” and “It Might Be Today.” Members Shelley Breen, Denise Jones, and Leigh Cappollino bring a plainspoken, Everywoman quality to songs celebrating the renewing power of prayer (“What I Already Know”), redemption from human weakness (“Only Jesus”), and the bonds between mother and daughter (“I Believe in You”). “Good Enough” stands out for its theme of hope through difficult times (as well as for its bright, closely matched vocals). A hint of the blues colors the melody of “Saving Jesus,” an urgent altar call aimed at those resisting the Word. Point of Grace does it all with the unaffected warmth and musical skill that has sustained the group's career through lineup shifts and stylistic changes.
