Hell or Hallelujah - Single

An aging, vanity-stricken vocalist. An ever-expanding, reality "star" bassist. And two members, while not new, are quite forgettable.
Kiss, in their 2012 version, releases music when it sees fit to cash in on a market they long forgot about due to a wildly nostalgic Reunion Tour in 1996. They've lived well off the past glories of this band and would love their new Kiss ARMY to continue buying the Kiss brand - in any form that may take. Cruises, miniature golf courses, caskets, condoms, reality television shows, four-thousand dollar coffee-table books, etc. None of this has anything to do with what got Kiss to this point - music.
Nice try Kiss, but this song exposes far too much work on the vocals (how on Earth do we make that voice sound good?), using copious amounts of reverb and delay not present on other Kiss releases (even 2009's Sonic Boom was rather dry) and not enough polish in the songwriting department.
Hell or Hallelujah is as garbled as Paul Stanley's vocals have grown. Tired. Deflated. Old. Yes, old. No longer relevant and while I'm sure they have another "Music from the Elder" in them, I don't think Bob Ezrin would choose to work with Kiss today. But as long as people keep consuming, Kiss will continue to produce...something.
Hell Or Hallelujah deserves a Halleluja!
This songs is awesome!
It takes you back to the catchy riffs of I Stole Your Love meets the heavy drive of albums such as Lick It Up, Animalize, and Revenge.
At last a new single by the Hottest Band in the World!!!! I gave this tune 4 stars because of the pure excitement it demands of the listener. The rest of the album is yet to be released, but judging by this song... I'll definately purchase it! Keep em comin' guys!
