My mommie says this isnt the write version


So sad Todd can't put the original song out .. This is a redo and should be advertised that way.... It really sad how the record company's can still screw real artists out of their work 30 years later....I hope the guys who got rich off his talent spend their later years in diapers..

About "Hello, It's Me"

Purists won't agree, but the arrangement of "Hello, It's Me" on this re-recording is better than the original, especially the drums and sax given more prominent positions in a cleaner mix.

Todd Rundgren's best-known songs -- the Carole King pastiche "I Saw the Light," the ballads "Hello, It's Me" and "Can We Still Be Friends," and the goofy novelty "Bang on the Drum All Day" -- suggest that he is a talented pop craftsman, but nothing more than that. On one level, that perception is true since he is undoubtedly a gifted pop songwriter, but at his core, Rundgren is a rock & roll maverick.
