Editors’ Notes

The first Christmas album from bandleader Ray Conniff is about as perfect as '50s easy-listening holiday records get. Aside from a sensitive choral setting of "Greensleeves (What Child Is This)" to close out the program, these songs are all pop standards, ranging from a weightless, twinkling take on the urbane "Silver Bells" to a joyously uptempo rendition of "Sleigh Ride." The massed harmonies of The Ray Conniff Singers give an upbeat, perky sheen even to ballads like "White Christmas" and "The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You)."

Christmas is.... Christmas with Conniff!

This cd personifies Christmas to me! I remember my Dad playing the album when I was a kid in the early 70's - it got pretty worn out over the years, so we were THRILLED to find the cd version! These songs bring back so many wonderful memories - I know every do-wah by heart! ALL the songs are wonderful, but some of my favorites are "Christmas Bride," "Here Comes Santa Claus," and "White Christmas." Buy this cd - you won't be disappointed!

One of the Very Best Christmas Records of all time!!

This record brings back memories of everything that is great about the beautiful Christmas Season, love and warmth! I remember my mother had this record back when I was a baby in the 60's and literally wore it out from playing it so much!! Naturally she was so delighted when it came out on cd in the late 90's. My mom has since passed and I had trouble listening to this record since but last year I put in on and as the many tears flowed, the beautiful memories came flowing back listening to these great Conniff Singers with Ray's brilliant arrangements. These songs are all great with not one clinker that is bound to happen on a Christmas album.....just give a listen to "Christmas Bride" a wonderful tune..the only unfortunate thing here is that the Itunes disc does not include the amazing version of "Greensleeves (What Child is This?) that the cd has! This disc along with Sinatra's, Nat King Cole's, Dean Martin's and Perry Como's belong in everybodys Christmas disc collection!

BEST CHRISTMAS ALBUM EVER!!!

This brings back memories of "Sing A-Long With Mitch"! Every single song on this album is 5 stars! with "Christmas Bride" being a perfect 10! This is SUCH a classic album, with classic sound! A perennial favorite since I was 5 years old! I can't believe not many singers have re-recorded this gorgous song! I actually BECAME "a Christmas Bride" myself (even though my husband & I actually got married in March 12 years ago). He proposed marriage to me, holding both my hands in his, when he professed his love for me (for the first time EVER!) underneath my Christmas tree's lights! This song is the BEST! The harmonies are GORGEOUS! So lilting!
