iTunes Review

It's a tricky thing for pop stars to write musicals. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. David Byrne and Fatboy Slim first collaborated on the 2010 Here Lies Love concept album, and the resulting musical was a success in 2013 at the Off-Broadway Public Theater in New York, and it's been remounted in 2014 A weird premise that ultimately hangs together, the story is about the disco- (and shoe-) loving Imelda Marcus and her humble childhood, rising to become the powerful First Lady of Philippines and descending as the People Power Revolution took control. This recording isn't to be confused with the principal creators' 2010 concept album of the same name (which featured an all-star lineup); this is the musical's original cast recording, with the award-winning Ruthie Ann Miles in the title role. In deference to the subject matter, the music here typically is much more identifiable as Fatboy Slim than David Byrne; the non-dance music material doesn’t sound much like solo Byrne or even Talking Heads. That said, the quirky Byrne comes to the fore on “The Fabulous One,” with actor Conrad Ricamora as a stand-in.

This is amazing

This is one of the best Broadway soundtracks of the year by far! I heard someone call this show this generation’s Evita i agree this show IMO is better then Evita i feel Evita is very overrated this show has such catchy songs and every song is better then the last song the best songs in order are Child Of The Philipphines, Rose Of Tacloban A Perfect Hand, Fabulous One, Men Will Do Anything, Order 10801(the Best song Imo Its Epic and amazing!) , Seven Years, Just Ask Flowers , Why Don’t you Love Me and the title song both versions! Overall i highly recommend that everyone get this soundtrack its amazing and i can’t get enough of it i guarantee i will have these songs stuck in my head for the next few months thats how good this album is!!! Get It Now!

Amazing musical and great cast!

I saw the show last year and waited a year for this album to come out. I got the original album but wanted the Original Cast recording for the newer songs and amazing talent.

This musical is one of the best complete album listen throughs in decades! It is brilliant from start to finish, the talent is second to none and if you can’t make it to the Public to see the show, this will have you dancing in your car/home/train/afternoon stroll!
