8 Songs, 30 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Dash Berlin's third album searches for the place where the perfect pop song meets the most epic trance. The Dutch production trio stretch their wings over expansive, uplifting love songs, pairing the likes of British singer Roxanne Emery and American indie-pop crooner Adam Jensen with breathless buildups, stadium-sized drops, and the most emo electronic melodies. "Somehow," a collab with 3LAU and Bright Lights, is a breathless EDM rush, while giant kick drums and fantastical keys propel "Never Let You Go" (with vocalist BullySongs and prog-house killer John Dahlbäck) into the stratosphere.

A+++

There is not a single bad song on this album. What a collaboration. Dash Berlin is hungry and becoming relevant in the scene very quickly.

What took so long?

I can't imagine what took so long to produce this absolute piece of crap. Terrible mastering, boring loops, meaningless lyrics. You can listen 30 seconds into every song and already hear everything it has to offer. Coming from Dash Berlin, this is pathetic at best. I honestly felt like I'd already heard every song because they sound like every other commercial dance tune. Shame to lose another artist, I know you need to make money, but you sure won't do that by copying literally every artist. This isn't even "selling out" this is "opting out" of his musical career. No respect.
