A new standard for "old tyme standards"

What can I say: I have heard the Sgt. Pepper of trad/alt/c&w/hillbilly/cajun/oldtime records. The Wilders have created one of the most important records of the year. I hold it up against any mainstream release as far as creativity, production values, showmanship, muscianship, hum-ability, sing-along-ness, it is just one great record. Tracks of note: 1-20, stand outs if one must make that distinction Wild Old Nory, Hey Little Darlin', Sittin' On a Jury, Somesone's Got to Pay, and Goodbye. Listen to it in one session, loud, pay attention, learn. The Wilders are a band that needs to be heard by everyone. Battle dance, anyone?

Top New Album from Kansas City Band

I've never spent any time writing a review before this album. Do Not Miss it! Besides composing some of the best new two-step tunes in the last 15 years, the Wilders write wonderful ballads and instrumentals of the Bluegrass variety. Their music acknowledges the retro sound but does it in the best way, by building upon it. "My Final Plea" should win song of the year honors from the country awards cabal. Good luck Wilders.

The Verdict is In!

Hey, Mr. Judge, crown the best theme album of the decade. New MCLE requirement for prosecutors, defense attorneys and judges: Listen to this CD from start to finish at least once a year. Blues and roots rock fans: Listen just because the music is great. With apologies to the late great Warren Zevon, one of my all time favorites: Lawyers, Guns and Money: Move Over!
