Customer Reviews

These cats are far from wannabes, they are bright stars in an INDEPENDENT music scene, one not swathed in Disney tones and lyrical content a 5 year old can dig. The performances on here are a nice interpretation, and it's meant as a tribute to pay homage to Alabama for bring such an influential juggernaut. If you prefer plastic artists singing these songs, buy the other Alabama tribute that was released a month ago, otherwise let these artists show their gratitude. The only thing comical here is the state of commercial country music, and if that's your thing, so be it, but don't trash good people trying to show some gratitude to Alabama.

Americana without the pop gloss

Alabama wrote great radio tunes. Nice to hear a contemporary interpretation by top talent like Jason Isbell, Turnpike Troubadors and OCMS. Breathes new life into some well-worn radio songs.

Turnpike Troubadours tops it all.

If You're Gonna Play in Texas by Turnpike is probably the best cover song I have ever heard. I would definitely recommend that song along with the whole album to anyone. It is a must listen! No wannabes here. This is the real deal!
