History of the Hymnal

I was looking for one song and it was on this collection. I looked at all the songs and decided to buy the entire collection. It was a waste of my money. On most of the songs there is a soprano voice that is strident, sometimes off-key and louder than the other voices. Choral singing should not have one voice overpower the other voices. This voice actually hurts my ears and makes me cringe. I wish now I had never bought it.

Love the Old Hymns

I personally enjoy this music and the efforts of all who perform. One day we'll all have perfect voices and pitch. For now, enjoy the message.

Problems with skipping!

The hymns are beautiful, but the 'skipping' is a HUGE distraction. It's a shame because it really takes away from the messages in the songs.

On a different note, the piano accompaniment is a little to simplified.... would be prettier with acappella or a violin accompaniment... this sounds to me like choir practice. Glad I didn't pay for the whole album.
