good songs, weird sound (re-mastered?)

I love the songs they chose, but they decided to mess with the original tracks and change the mix (compare the soul finger on this cd with the ones on the other albums). I don't know if they did a remastering or what, but it sounds like they took the tracks and ran them through the dishwasher - the sound is clean but I think it lost some funk in the process. Its a little too crisp for me and I feel like songs like holy ghost and soul finger really suffer. I know some will disagree, but if I could go back I would use the song list as a guide and pick the songs up from the other comps

The Bar-Kays first LP

Great Collection of hitz from this powerful group... but can you guys find The Bar-Kays Black Rock LP this was the one classic that got me hooked. Its on volt records a division of Stax Records between 1971 and 73 I believe. thanks Itunes keep bringing hitz.

Initially a funky instrumental soul combo on Stax/Volt, the Bar-Kays were nearly destroyed when most of the band perished in the same plane crash that claimed Otis Redding.
