Why do these kind of dumb songs keep becoming popular?
PEOPLE ARE BUTTHURT
people don't understand it's a dance song and it's a song to have fun with you're friends.
Hitting the ground like Tennessee's answer to We Are Toonz, iLoveMemphis took over social media in 2015 when his pop-rap dance number "Hit the Quan" blew up on a "Drop That Nae Nae" level, under his original name iHeart Memphis. Working with producer Buck Nasty, the rapper and dancer debuted in 2014 with the track "SnapEmUp." It all took off a year later when "Hit the Quan" hit the clubs and poked fun at Rich Homie Quan's unique dancing style. The song took off, with plenty of uploads of showing fans hitting the Quan, then "2For1," which celebrated both new sneakers and the beauty of Kylie Jenner, followed soon after. Def Jam veteran Barry Weiss' new record label, Records, and his new song publishing company, Songs, signed the MC in 2015, while a name change to iLoveMemphis became official. ~ David Jeffries
