iTunes Review

Christian Letts, best known as the lead guitarist of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, teamed up with friend/producer Marcus Mumford (of Mumford and Sons) over two consecutive Januaries and assembled this 10-track solo album. It’s as moody and mellow as one might expect, maintaining largely acoustic-based arrangements that reflect the bucolic farm setting where the album was recorded. Other members of their respective bands join in the casual fun. The drum-powered “Emeralds” picks up the pace for a breather (ditto, “The Oath” and “Twenty Seven Arrows”). Letts is also a painter and sculptor, and his songs reveal an observer’s eye.

If you think Christian Letts is great with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros you'll find he's even more amazing doing his own thing. Beginning of the year and we may already have the Album of the Year!

Letts comes out swinging..

Feb 17 couldn't come sooner. With these first 3 tracks it's obvious how much he has poured into this album. I just can't wait for the tour. Community Music is giving us such great, personal, and honest music. This album is sure to be another incredible success.

In 2011 Letts met Marcus Mumford while opening for Mumford & Sons on their Railroad Revival Tour. The two became fast friends and when Letts decided to strike out on his own he asked Mumford to come along for the ride and handle production...
