The Menzingers live on...

Lackawanna county Coal Mine City raised band known as "The Menzingers" have released what today we know as their sophomore album. After a couple years laid to rest in their touring, moving, and expanding they have written and produced the Album "Hold on, Dodge." This album if your grading it to the level and talent of their previous album is of a totally different breed. Lead Vocalists Greg Barnett and Tom May take a new line with vocals and lyrics that seem to dig even deeper to what some lyrics and songs may portray in the past. A movement to slower cords and melodic riffs have seemingly taking a hefty precedence on this album as opposed to the previous album. However the emotion and power ever present in this bands music is once again not coming up short whatsoever in the short album. By far this album is a supportive and positive stepping stone in their careers as "The Menzingers." Highly support this purchase. Support Local Music!

Can't stop listening...

This album is amazing. I bought it yesterday, and it is the only thing I have listened to since. Each song stands so well on its own merits, making it easy to just hit shuffle. I really enjoy the acoustic bonus track, Kentucky Gentlemen. Sunday Morning's anthemic line "Don't worry brother, this will blow over" gets stuck in your head almost too easily. Lilith Avi has the best chorus on the album, while Red, White and Blues has the most meaningful lyrics. The only song that I don't like that much is They Speak of my Drinking, But Never of my Thirst. I can't really place why. Buy this album, it is well worth the 4 dollars! You will not be disappointed.

Original Sound

These guys are so original. Livith Avi alone is worth the entire album. I can't stop listening to that song! Ahh! It's in my head right now.

Though they would later relocate to nearby Philadelphia, punk rock unit the Menzingers came together in Scranton, Pennsylvania and included former members of local ska-punk bands Bob & the Sagets and Kos Mos. Tom May (vocals, guitar), Joe Godino (drums), Eric Keen (bass), and Greg Barnett (vocals, guitar) released a self-titled demo in 2006, and after it found its way into the hands of folks at Go-Kart Records, the guys earned a spot on the impressed label's roster. The Menzingers' debut full-length,...
