Indies, yes. Next, not so much

First off, these bands are termed indie because they are released on independent labels, morons. The two elements that should frustrate you about this album are that it is (1) released by MTV2, and (2) that Spoon, Bloc Party The Shins, Bright Eyes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, CYHSY and Cold War Kids are already here in the mainstream, not up and coming. Oh yeah, and if Sonic Youth is new, maybe you should search some of my mom's dusty old LPs for the next great band....

oxymoron

this compilation is a complete oxymoron! the whole idea of indie music is to be under the radar and for people to discover you on their own. this is just a way for mtv2 (notice the logo in the lower left corner of the album art) to make money off indie bands by making them popular. i completely disagree with this idea. please don't buy it so they won't make any more!

no...

f-off mtv. period. just get away. seriously!!!!
