Album Review

Although she always demonstrated a strong gospel influence, Come Walk With Me is Oleta Adams' first full-fledged religious album. Unsurprisingly, her singing shines throughout, but the record falls just short from being a powerhouse because the songs often meander, failing to hit upon a strong, memorable hook. Nevertheless, the album succeeds in being a moving modern gospel record because of Adams' passion and her remarkable voice.

Truly Thankful

I previously purchased on audio tape. It quickly became my favorite, but I it ruined it years ago. I've been waiting for this album to become available on ITunes. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Nice Gospel album by Oleta .

my favorite songs are ''I Will You Love You'' & ''Come And Walk With Me''.

This Album is Timeless

Oleta Adams is a wonderful singer, and "Come Walk with Me" is a great album. The best word for this album is "moderation." It is not overly "gospel-like" or "secular." She found the right balance. One could easily hear these songs being sung in a old-school, traditional baptist church or a worshipful, contemporary mega-church. In fact, I think the album is attractive for those who are not familiar with gospel music all together. The balance probably explains why Apple labeled the album as "Pop." Apple probably should label this as a "Christian & Gospel" album. It's definitely not "Pop."

My favorite songs are:
1. Holy is the Lamb (I simply love this song. Period.)
2. Come and Walk with Me
3. This Love Won't Fail
4. Wash, O God, Our Sons and Daughters (great song for Easter Vigils that include baptisms, confirmations, and first communion)
5. Beams of Heaven

Being the daughter of a minister, it's no surprise that Oleta Adams' roots are in gospel, as she often performed in her father's church. But her formal introduction to the masses began rather unexpectedly. While performing in a Kansas City hotel, Oleta Adams was discovered by Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears, and she was invited to participate in the recording of the British band's follow-up to the immensely popular 1985 album Songs From the Big Chair. When Tears for Fears unleashed...
