Thank God!!!

I can't believe Guad is here! The best album from one of Athens' most underrated bands.

Easily one the Best Southern Alt. Rock Albums of the 80's

Guadalcanal Diary were an underated group out of Georgia, hailing from the same powerhouse region of Post Modern College music in Athens as; Dream So Real, REM, The B-52's, Pylon, and Drivin' & Cryin'... 2 X 4 was the result of everything working...the planets were in line, Murray and Jeff brought together their finest songs to date, Johns Drumming was bigger, the sound was a little bit tougher...it was awesome to see them bring it on live. They were tremendous in concert. Almost the entire album is great... Favorites... Litany, Winds of Change, Where Angels Fear To Tread, 3AM (is Amazing), New Born, Lips of Steel, and Things Fall Apart among others... Only Let the Big Wheel Roll and Say Please are just on the good side, but carry the humor that the previous two albums had made a standard GCD trademark. Great Album even today... the Bonus here are all of the Demos not included on the original album...

Excellent LP

Ok i am dating myself with the "LP" reference. This was one of the best recordings in its day. I used to play this on my college radio show to very wide appeal. If you are dbating whether or not to get this record, get it. You wont be disappointed.

And at a time when Athens, Georgia, was being hailed as the new center of the smart-pop universe, Guadalcanal Diary hailed...
