Repping for Norwalk, Conn., Chris Webby is part of the growing frat-rap subgenre, populated mostly by young white dudes heavily influenced by Eminem, rhyming almost exclusively about self-medication, extensive partying, ADD, and the ladies. Like his contemporaries Mac Miller, Sam Adams, and Asher Roth, Webby put out a bunch of online mixtapes (including Optimus Rhyme, Best in the Burbs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Rapper), and built a rep through viral videos, social media, and college parties. Homegrown is his second EP and continues where There Goes the Neighborhood left off. With lyrics about text messaging, futons, Adderall, and beer pong, he's a hero for the underage rap-fan set and has plenty of potential to blow up. Don't miss the triumphant, surprisingly sharp "Rap Nemesis" and the spooky before-and-after jam "Aww Naww."

NINJA TAKEOVER!

So after realeasing "There Goes the Neighborhod" EP last year, Webby is dropping "Homegrown" and I can't wait. Yes it might sound a little different than his previous mixtape but you gotta remember Webby is expanding as an artist and he IS atracting more fans by the dozen! Let's not forget he is dropping an ALBUM after this EP is out of the way so we can expect more from him. With NO co-sign this dude has come a long way and I'm proud to say I will keep supporting him because he has a talent that not many rappers can cook up now a days. The Jesse Pinkman of rap.

After building up a sizable base of "ninjas" (what the rapper calls his fans) with giveaway mixtapes stocked full of accessible party raps, Connecticut's Chris Webby finally went aboveground with this debut 2001 EP, There Goes the Neighborhood. Rapping since he was in the 6th grade, Webby caught fire rapping at college keg parties, but after getting kicked out of school, he joined the mixtape game and began releasing a series of tapes that had fans comparing him to Machine Gun Kelly and Mac Miller....
