iTunes Review

Wanna dance? The funk-house party of the robots’ debut makes it a stone-cold classic. Using whomping beats, vocoder vocals and razor-edged pop instincts, the 1997 release from French producer/songwriters Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter sparked a disco revival. Homework also proves that house music has unlimited potential on the pop charts, fusing hip-hop swagger, swiggily synths and sparkling '70s glam into wildly catchy, hypnotic tunes like “Da Funk” and “Around the World.” Revolution has rarely sounded so fun.

The combined talents of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the Parisian duo quickly won acclaim for their unique blend of first-wave acid house and techno with pop, indie rock, and hip-hop. One of the pair's first projects together was Darling, an instrumental indie cover band; their...
