Album Review

As part of Blue Note's The Very Best series, tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins is spotlighted on seven tracks recorded during his short two-year tenure, 1956 and 1957, with the label. Rollins is backed up by fellow Blue Note alumni Donald Byrd, J.J. Johnson, Art Blakey, and Horace Silver, among others, making this a prime sampler for the novice at a mid-line price.
