Album Review

Sacramento's Oleander makes their major-label debut with Feburary Son, a collection of aggressive and melodic rock. The band's third release, February Son showcases their focused technique, and tracks like "You'll Find Out" and "Why I'm Here" feature their finest post-grunge-isms.

Customer Reviews

I don't write reviews...

And I wouldn't waste my time doing one unless I absolutely loved the album. This is one of the best CD's I've ever heard. I've had it since it came out and it never, ever gets old. Perfection.

This is truly one of the best alternative albums out there. I love the entire album, but "Down When I'm Loaded" and "Stupid" are two of the most awesome songs on there. "Why I'm Here" is one of my favorite songs ever and is the reason why I bought the album in the first place. If you miss true 90's alternative, you have to get this album. It just takes you back.

Oleandar is Addicting

I discovered Oleandar when a friend gave me a random stack of CDs one being Febrary Son. Insane album...This CD and band can fit any mood that you are in. I must say this is great road trip music. I have turned quite a few people onto this band since then. This was surely one of my "Most Played." 2 or 3 years ago someone broke into my car and this is one of the CDs that they got away with. Glad to have it again!! BE SURE to check out the cover they do of Boys Don't Cry!

The band was originally formed in 1995 by singer/guitarist Thomas Flowers, guitarist Ric Ivanisevich, bassist Doug Eldridge, and drummer Fred Nelson, Jr. Named for the poisonous wildflowers growing throughout the Northern California region, Oleander made their studio debut in 1996 with a self-titled EP; a full-length...
