About Hunee

House producer and vinyl junkie Hunee (Hun Choi) cultivates deep, sunny grooves with a clear reverence for Chicago and Detroit house as well as disco, jazz, and dub influences. Choi grew up in Bochum, West Germany and moved to Berlin at age 19. After getting a job at a record store in the city, he established himself as a DJ before turning his hand to production. He made his vinyl debut in 2009 with a series of 12"s on labels such as Internasjonal and W.T. Records. Amsterdam-based dance label Rush Hour signed Hunee in 2010, releasing the Bobos Alone in Paradise EP that year, followed by "Tide"/"Minnoch" in 2012. After a brief stint in Los Angeles, during which he recorded his debut album, Choi moved to Amsterdam. Rush Hour released his full-length debut, Hunch Music, in June of 2015. Hunchin' All Night, an unmixed compilation of disco, techno, house, and African tracks selected by Hunee, was released by Rush Hour in 2018. ~ Paul Simpson
