iTunes Review

Curated by Lorde, the soundtrack to Mockingjay Part 1 revels in the adventurous post-everything pop that the New Zealand teenager has been instrumental in popularizing. It's an adventurous blend that fits the movie's themes like a well-worn hoodie. Filled with unlikely, eclectic pairings, the collection is nevertheless uniformly haunting: Ariana Grande slinks across the pyrotechnic soundscapes of Major Lazer on "All My Love," Charli XCX teams with Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon on the ethereal "Kingdom," and '90s electronic kingpins The Chemical Brothers produce whirring post-R&B for contemporary sensation Miguel on "This Is Not a Game."

Mockingjay Music

The music in Mockingjay was almost as good as the movie. Jen did a wonderful job on The Hanging Tree and the other songs are all very good. I'm glad that this lets you get The Hanging Tree and other songs like Yellow Flicker Beat.

has nothing to do with the movie

If I could have given this ab a zero I would have. This is the darkest and most emotional book/ movie in the series, yet the soundtrack is filled with upbeat pop and rap songs. That makes absolutely no sense and makes me so mad. When listening to the soundtrack, Mockingjay never once crosses my mind. I don't hear Mockingjay in this soundtrack, just a bunch of pop songs. Also, what happened to the alternative songs from the 1st and 2nd albums? Those were a perfect fit for this series. All in all, I absolutely hate this album, and I hope Lorde has nothing to do with the next and final soundtrack.

Stop whining...

Lorde was CHOSEN to do the album, of course she's gonna be on it. Why you gotta cry about it. The album was digitally rereleased due to the popularity of hanging tree so stop crying about that. Any one that's ever bought a movie, game, music, ect., ect., knows that their gonna A. release a special edition or B. Rerelease it at a discount, added songs, and so on. So shut up
