Sensational New Album!

I've been a fan of Patti's Between the 1 and the 9 album for 15 years now (would love to see it on iTunes someday too!) so I was eagerly anticipating this new release. It was well worth the wait! Patti does not disappoint as she proves to be able to expand her versatility by adding a few really great & catchy dance tracks to start. The first song, "Make it Real" has such a contagious beat and chorus that I find myself singing it to myself ALOT. The first 5 tracks all have a really great dance beat that does not become easily tiresome and reminds me of Madonna's Ray of Light album. Tracks 6-13 should please fans of Patti's hit single "Inside" since they share the similar Acoustic Rock style that made her famous. My favorite tracks overall: Make it Real, The Stars, As You Will, Cut And Dry, Interest, Let It Slide (IMO, sounds the most like "Inside"), Comin Around Again...honestly, I don't think there really is a "bad" track overall...this is one of those CDs that is worth buying them all...

Half a good album

I was very shocked to hear the first five tracks of this album, all of which rely on overprocessed been-there-done-that auto tuner and dull "dance" beats. I like dance music when it's well done, but Patti Rothberg is known for great vocals, beautiful arrangements, and guitar, not boring autotuned vocals (this is an effect that people often use because they can't sing). Starting with song six, the album returns to a Patti Rothberg album, and "Cut and Dry" is a classic song. There's just too much time spent trying to find a derivative pop sound on the first half of the album.

Patti Rothberg

What can I say? I just can't get enough of her. While her first album was the best, there's something for everyone to enjoy on all her releases and this one is no different. Let it slide does it for me. I love you Patti! See you in Pawling NY August 2011!

Years Active: '90s, '00s

New York City born and bred singer/songwriter Patti Rothberg got a lot of attention for her 1996 major label debut, Between the 1 and 9 (EMI Records USA). The honesty and truthfulness of the lyrics and music struck critics and fans alike. A multi-instrumentalist, Rothberg played all the bass and guitar parts on Between the 1 and 9 and began playing piano when she was three years old. This developed into composing and songwriting by the time she turned 15. Though Rothberg attended the Parsons School...
