Album Review

3 Mile Pilot's over-emotive style of alterna-rock may have been beaten to death during the remainder of the '90s, but Na Vucca Do Lupu is a semi-remarkable release for 1992 — the band's guitar-less lineup keeps it from falling into any of the sounds that were quickly becoming cliches in the early '90s, using robust bass work to fill the gaps instead. Whatever the band accomplished musically, however, is slightly detracted from by exasperatingly melodramatic vocals.

San Diego's Three Mile Pilot are perhaps best known to the indie rock world at large for supplying key personnel to Touch & Go buzz band the Black Heart Procession. Still, they spent much of the '90s near the forefront of a surprisingly active local indie scene.
