Album Review

While the one screeching vocal by Valerie Etienne on "The Fan" is enough to clear a room, the band is riding the good groove on this electronica platter. This knob-spinning duo keeps things varied, with elements of funk, disco and even folk (on the acoustic guitar-sampled "Sana Fey"). The overall mood, however, is ambient space, which gets full-blown on the Pink Floyd-esque title track.

The album overall is okay. But the track "Sana Fey" is a dance-funk masterpiece that builds so wonderfully. You can't tell from the :30 clip here, but trust me on this one. I played this to death when I first discovered it back in '99. It holds up very well, not dated at all.
