Must-have for any fan of soul

This tribute to the women of soul is terrific, featuring some familiar tunes, and delightfully, some lesser known gems. Alternately playful, defiant, sorrowful, and exhuberant, her voice is a wonder. A must-have for any fan of soul.

Fantastic voice!

I was fortunate enough to see Vaneese Thomas perform live in Perugia Italy at the Umbria Jazz Festival in July 2009. She is a true phenomenon and if you have not heard her yet, listen to this incredible album.

She just keep growing in talent

Well, my girl has done it again! We went to college together so I saw her in the beginning way back in the 70's and she was great then. Now she has reached for the stars grabbed them and made them her own. This is another example of her range and talent; I can't wait for volume #2 can you?

One of Rufus Thomas' many talented children, Vaneese Thomas enjoyed some big success in the late '80s as a solo vocalist on Geffen. Her debut LP, Vaneese Thomas, had a pair of Top 20 R&B hits in "Let's Talk It Over" and "(I Wanna Get) Close To You" in 1987.
