iTunes Review

Kid Cudi’s full-length debut is a vast, ambitious concept album divided into five acts, each exploring a different aspect of Cudi’s psyche. Sonically, the album takes its cues from new wave and New Romantic bands, techno, and ambient music. The contributions of Ratatat and MGMT further dissolve the boundaries between electronica, modern rock and hip-hop. The album adopts a somber tone throughout.

MOTM: The End of The Day (track by track)

I will start of by saying: BUY THIS ALBUM. It doesn’t matter what kind of music you listen to, you will like this. The debut album from Cleveland native Scott “KiD CuDi” Mescudi, is incredible from start to finish. Here is the track by track:
1.) In My Dreams (Cudder Anthem)- A dreamy intro, sets a good stage for what’s to come (7/10)
2.) Soundtrack 2 My Life- “I got 99 problems, and they all b****es, wish I was Jigga man, care free linvin.” Some of the better lyrics on the cd. This is an ill song. (9/10)
3.) Simples As…- Due to be one of the most underrated songs, the production from Plain Pat is so cool on this track. (9/10)
4.) Solo Dolo- I don’t personally love this one, but it is definitely original. (6/10)
5.) Heart of a Lion (KiD CuDi Theme Music)- this is a solid track with a good chorus, but not a standout. (7/10)
6.) My World- This song build up well, but the best is yet to come. (7/10)
7.) Day N’ Nite- You probably already no the first single, as it has been popular for quite some time now. (10/10)
8.) Sky Might Fall- This Kanye produced song is so epic, nothing else to say. (10/10)
9.) Enter Galactic (Love Connection Part 1)- One of the most upbeat songs, definitely makes you want to dance. (7/10)
10.) Alive- The first of two songs with a Ratatat beat. If you like this download the Ratatat rap remixes of their website, they are very tight as well. (8/10)
11.) CuDi Zone- Definitely one of the better songs, the beat is crazy, and Cudi’s flow sounds so good over it. (10/10)
12.) Make Her Say (Ft. Kanye West & Common)- This song is sure to make you laugh, and Kanye’s beat is sick. (9/10)
13.) Pursuit of Happiness- The highly anticipated collab with MGMT is another epic song, and the third single off the album. (10/10)
14.) Hyyer- With Chip Tha Ripper this has one of the best used samples you’ll hear. (8/10)
15.) Up Up & Away (The Wake and Bake song)- This is one of my personal favorite songs, who wouldn’t like this? (10/10)

Album of the year? It has my vote. As we near 2010 I think this album has to be considered one of the best, and certainly most inventive hip hop albums of the decade, along with The College Dropout, The Blueprint, The Cool, and The Chronic 2001. My Opinion.

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen...

It won't do Kid Cudi justice to classify him as a great rapper or great musician, for he is greater than both of those titles. Kid Cudi is a musical genius. This album, the first part in a trilogy of albums, will surely go down as the album of the year and will continue to be looked back upon as a huge step in the hip-hop genre for years and maybe even decades down the line. You surely won't regret purchasing the whole album. I suggest to listen to it from bottom to top and the best headphones you have. This album tells a story. Sure, we hear that with almost every album that comes out but theres profound truth to that statement when it comes to this album. I envy whoever is buying this album to listen to it for their first time. You will remember the experience and look back on it fondly.

To all those!

The problem with these people giving low stars is that the only reason they liked cudi was because the heard him on the radio.... If u thought the album was going to be like make her say and day n night, u know nothing of Cudi... He is trying to get a message accross instead of making club bangers and workout music...

BUY THIS ALBUM, it is amazing, I'm probbably on the 7th straight time listening to it
