Audioslave At Their Heaviest

This was an awesome debut album from an awesome band. This album like all Audioslave albums flows really well as a whole. What makes it stand out the most from their other two studio albums is how much heavier it is, showcased in songs such as "Cochise", "Show Me How to Live", and "Light My Way". That's not to say that it doesn't have excellent soft songs and ballads, with songs like "Like A Stone", "I Am The Highway", and "Getaway Car" which has an awesome bluesy solo which isn't something most are used to hearing from Tom Morello. I definitely recommend this album, but if you buy it from Itunes make sure to buy the $10 version, I'm not really sure why they have three versions of this album.

best audioslave CD as whole by far! you cant go wrong with this album, its the perfect CD for any audioslave fan or an intorduction into becoming one.

The Album to End All Albums

Audioslave may be disbanded now (big mistake Cornell) but this is still my favorite album. Of my 13 five star songs coming from my entire music library, 5 come from this album. Songs Like Like A Stone and What You Are, to me, are all that music needs to be. Amazing lyrics, guitar, bass, and drums. All aspects of the songs in this album contribute to its greatness making it something greater than the sum of its parts. Unilike a lot of new rock out there, Audioslave contains bandmembers that are actually talented. Every person in this band is a seasoned verteran of the music buisness and is great at what they do.I could easily listen to this album for the rest of my life. If you like Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, or any other REAL rock or alternative then you will love this album.

Formed: 2001 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s

When Zack de la Rocha left Rage Against the Machine in October 2000, the band's future was put into question. Within months rumors flew that Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell would replace de la Rocha. And gossip fueled truth, for Cornell joined the rest of Rage in the studio in May 2001. The mix was great and a musical bond was in the making: Cornell, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, and Tom Morello spent the next year writing and recording. By spring 2002, the foursome were no longer going by the Rage...
