Catsplosion!

I hope this band finally gets their due. They've been making girls and liquor store owners cheer for a while now.

good stuff

Another excellent No Idea band. Very reminiscent of Dillinger 4's "This Sh@t is Genius" and "Midwestern Songs...", which is high praise considering "Midwestern Songs..." is a modern punk classic. Not surprising since these fellas hail from Minneapolis as well. Hadn't heard the D4 influence as much on their earlier releases. Most impressive. Will be wearing out my i-pod for the next few days.

a REAL punk rock band

One of the few bands that can still honestly be called "punk" in sound and spirit, Off With Their Heads returns with twelve happy go lucky F**K YOU crust punk anthems. And I do mean anthems. Simple, pissed off lyrics sung in a hoarse, gruff tone, easy to follow chord progressions, and 1-2-3-4 tempos make this CD a must have for anyone who hates the world, beats up old ladies, and kicks puppies--okay maybe not that last one, but it's still pretty damn punk.

Biography

Formed: 2003 in Minneapolis MN

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Minneapolis punk band Off with Their Heads began in 2003, taking their membership from area punk and hardcore institutions like Dillinger Four, Dear Landlord, Banner Pilot, and the Fake Boys, among others. Based around the depraved and hard-living themes of vocalist Ryan Young's songs, the band existed mostly in the form of an endless string of EP and split 7" releases for many years. Also focused on constant touring, Off with Their Heads maintained a revolving lineup so they could stay on the road...
