Album Review

The Definitive Collection delivers 25 essential tracks by Don Williams, spanning his tenure with ABC, MCA, and Capitol Records. With the exception of "Stay Young," all of his chart-topping country hits from the '70s and '80s are here, including "Heartbeat in the Darkness," "Tulsa Time," "I Believe in You," "Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good," and "I Wouldn't Want to Live if You Didn't Want Me," his first number one from 1974. While not as generous as the 40-track Anthology set on Hip-O, it's convenient to have all his original hits on one disc.

My dad a truck driver and when he came home, Don Williams would be on the record player..(iPod wasn't an option) Now, I see why he loved his music. Good music for the soul while out on the highways. Don Williams you are loved all over the Caribbean and with this 2nd generation trucka

Williams was never known as an innovator, but his ballads were immensely popular; in the course of his career, he had a total of 17 number one hits. Williams began playing guitar when he was child, learning the instrument from his mother. As a teenager,...
