Album Review

The proper follow-up to Pugh's Top Gospel Albums chart topper Earnestly Yours, The W.I.N. (Worship in Nassau) Experience was recorded in the Bahamas during broadcasting company Radio One's One Love cruise. It's a flashy, occasionally funky set with Pugh's voice high in the mix. At times, the crowd noise sounds either fabricated or just incongruent with the performances. The 13-minute "O'Landa Draper Tribute Medley" honors Pugh's mentor (with appearances from Shirley Caesar, LeJeune Thompson, and Vincent Tharpe & Kenosis), while "All Things Through Christ" features Rance Allen.
