Album Review

Covering over 50 years of Louis Armstrong's career, this three-CD set from the Verve archives starts in the juke joints and speakeasies of the '20s and ends up documenting his pop hits of the '60s. Chronicling the achievements of a prolific and diverse performer of Anderson's caliber is difficult, but this release gives a strong, broad overview of one of the great pioneers of jazz. The Ultimate Collection features jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins, "Fatha" Earl Hines, and Jack Teagarden, as well as vocal performances by Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, the Mills Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald, and many others.

This Guy Is The Best Player I Have Ever Heard. You Don't Hear That Much From 14 Year Olds, But, This Guy Is Awesome. I Listen To Him When I Skate And His Music Keeps Me Calm And Stress-Free. I Would Recommend Louis Armstrong To Any Age Group. His Music Is Not Like The Other Music I Listen To Such As Metal, Crust, Gore and Anything Similar, But It Is Really Good! His Music Is Clean And Great. Thank You, Louis! Jesse

i listen to a lot of different types of music. my favorite bands are Tool and System of a Down, but i also like Slipknot and Linkin Park. i like heavy, fast, and melodic music, but when i need to cool down i listen to Classical and Jazz. despite teh amount of music that i listen to, "What a Wonderful World" is still one of my favorite songs of all time

Louis Armstrong was the first important soloist to emerge in jazz, and he became the most influential musician in the music's history. As a trumpet virtuoso, his playing, beginning with the 1920s studio recordings made with his Hot Five and Hot Seven ensembles, charted a future for jazz in highly imaginative, emotionally charged improvisation. For this, he is revered by jazz fans. But Armstrong also became an enduring figure in popular music, due to his distinctively phrased bass singing and engaging...
