Album Review

The Best of Bonnie Raitt on Capitol 1989-2003 gathers the biggest and brightest moments of her time at Capitol Records, including definitive hits such as "Thing Called Love," "Nick of Time," "Something to Talk About," and "Love Sneakin' Up on You" as well as newer material like "Time of Our Lives" and "Hear Me Lord" from her 2002 album Silver Lining. The collection is fairly egalitarian, taking a roughly equal amount of tracks from each of her seven albums for the label, including 1995's Road Tested, which is represented by "Love Me Like a Man," "Rock Steady," and "I Believe I'm in Love With You." This approach might be too even-handed for Raitt fans expecting more songs from albums such as Luck of the Draw and Nick of Time, though it does give the album context and a nice chronological flow. Nitpicking aside, as the first collection of her best-known material, The Best of Bonnie Raitt on Capitol 1989-2003, Rovi

Best of Bonnie Raitt 1989 - 2003

Bonnie Raitt can sing blues, country, and rock & roll with the best of them. She is a talented song writer and plays one mean electric guitar. Bonnie is a exceptional musical artist and this album is full of home runs. Get it.

I Don't Leave Home Without It

I'm a 58 year-old Black man that grew up in one of the most musically diverse eras imagineable - Motown in it's heyday, Great rock, Linda Rondstandt, Pat Benatar, Anita Baker, Madonna, Aeorosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Joan Baez, Janis Joplin, Gloria Estefan - I could go on an on. I enjoy and buy all kinds of music. The one principle I follow when it comes to parting with my hard-earned $$$, is simple. Buy Quality because it Never Goes Out Of Style and it Endures.

I have this CD and another Bonnie Raitt Hits Album as well. If I go on a road trip, I literally 'don't leave home without these CD's. I only wish I had seen her perform live back in her real heyday. I love jammin' to Bonnie. Give her a try .

Idiotic comment

Texas chic…you may or may not like this album, but it is music regardless of your sentiment,

Long a critic's darling, singer/guitarist Bonnie Raitt did not begin to win the comparable commercial success due her until the release of the aptly titled 1989 blockbuster Nick of Time; her tenth album, it rocketed her into the mainstream consciousness nearly two decades after she first committed her unique blend of blues, rock, and R&B to vinyl. Born in Burbank, CA, on November 8, 1949, she was the daughter of Broadway star John Raitt, best known for his starring performances in such smashes...
