iTunes Review

Her second compilation from 2007 (the first one being Sara Evans: The Early Years), delivers four bonus songs in addition to the other ten chart toppers. The first two newbies are radio ready singles. "As If" is an undeniably catchy insta-hit with driving rhythms and upbeat melodies. "Love You With All My Heart" (co-written by her brother Matt) is a thoughtfully constructed number that leans on airwave friendly balladry and an effectively sentimental narrative. The other two bonus songs are deeply rooted in the kind of new traditional country that oozed from her gorgeous 1997 debut Three Chords And The Truth (from which no songs appear here, unfortunately). "Pray For You" muses on motherly love with gentle back porch picking and harmonies sweeter than southern tea, and the rich wooden tones of old school country instrumentation. Spunky fiddles spark up "Some Things Never Change," a steel guitar engagement that rocks and slides like TNT era Tanya Tucker with universal working woman lyrics akin to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5." And yes, all the smash hits sandwiched in between are sequenced to make for a truly satisfying listen.

I don't normally like greatest hits albums, BUT...

This is the exception! Normally I feel that greatest hits albums are just ways for music artists to cash in by releasing songs that fans already have and tossing in a few new songs so they don't feel totally ripped off. But Sara Evans is the most talented, graceful and beautiful country artist working today! And being able to release this album with everything she's gone through in her life is remarkable. The new songs are great and the selection of songs from past albums will not dissapoint current fans and will also impress those who have not listened to her before. This album will keep us entertained until her next all new release comes out. Way to go Sara!

A great greatest hits album

As if is a wonderful song. Every song is five stars. Country music is so awesome.

Sara is #1

Wow what a great list of singles all on one cd! In her 10 year career in country music these are the cream of the crop from Ms. Evans and they are all amazing songs. Put together with four new GREAT singles, this cd is a must buy for any country fan. This cd right here is the reason Sara won female vocalist of the question!

A female country traditionalist during a time when they were quite rare around Nashville, Sara Evans gained her RCA contract in 1996 after her rendition of Buck Owens' perennial chestnut "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail" impressed its songwriter, Harlan Howard, so much that he considered himself duty-bound to help her. While growing up poor in rural Missouri, Evans performed with her family's band -- at the age of four -- and even recorded in Nashville just a few years later. She eventually moved to...
